Don’t Under-Engineer Your New Level 2 EV Charging Station

Many new owners of electric vehicles are handicapping themselves for the future by installing wires that are too small for the future.

Most electrical vehicles (Level 2, 240V) charging requirements are anywhere from 32 Amps to 48 Amps (Tesla).

If you don’t install big enough wires now, you might have to come back and install new wire when you get a different EV. Don’t handicap yourself for the future.

Make sure your electrical service provider is installing a minimum wire size of #6-3 AWG Romex or #6 AWG THHN.
